I am going to skip the introduction of the podcast episode and get right into the discuss between Erika Potts from Oils4TheMend.com and myself about her doTERRA Essential Oil journey.

Gary Winchester

So the last thing we’ll talk about

totally black. done it. Holy crap. I should have wrote this down but I didn’t. I just felt like I should go with it. It was mindset. It was workout. Oh yeah. So how long have you been doing?

Erika Potts

For years, October was our four year anniversary.

Gary Winchester

So what got you into doing the oils?

Erika Potts

I’m down. I was a fitness instructor. Um, after 16 years of dealing with endometriosis, and then add a new mitosis, which is just scarring all around the uterus. I decided to throw in the towel and have a hysterectomy. And then I went a little crazy after that, and it was bad. I ended up slipping into a really dark season of my life where I was heavily medicated, knew nothing about Tara. I was on out of band for anxiety, Prozac for depression. I was taking some sort of a pancreatic enzyme from the pancreas of the pic to digest my food. And then I was mixing my head medication with alcohol and I was suicidal. Daily, I just wanted out I’m like I want out of my body sucks, I’m done. I didn’t think I was any used to my family anymore. I was pretty much at the end, our marriage was just about over. And all the things that we were trying to do to get us out of trouble was getting us deeper into trouble. So we went into our room one night and just got down underneath and we’re like, God help. Because we are at the end of the end of everything financially marriage me, my life, and within 48 hours, walking my dog. I run into Stephanie Wahlberg and Kenny Wahlberg. And they said, How are you?

Gary Winchester

loaded question.

Erika Potts

Yeah, they were out on a walk on a date walk. They have seven kids like us. And they took 30 minutes and just listen to me. Just, I mean, like, intently and I told them, we’re in trouble. We don’t know. They were just saying They were there at the right time. And they I told them we’re in trouble. And what it came down to was it started with, I cannot digest my food, I’m in a lot of pain. So that’s what we started with. It was the digestive then rolling it on the stomach. And that synergy of that oil hit my body. And I was like, whoa, hold on. I got a hold of that essential life book. And I started reading and I mean, I used to go to health food stores and I’d be like, dude, you need like a degree you like go to a college to learn how to do homeopathic because dude, and I got hold that book and everything, just everything made sense in my brain. And I thought, Oh my gosh, there’s hope. And so the journey began, and it took about a year to get me all the way back. But if you’re thinking a year after that I was coming back imagine how I’m doing it year for I am a complete I’m even better than I was before. I’m a completely different person. And of course with the mindset of wanting to help People, that wasn’t something I was going to keep to myself. And so advocating was like, Yes. It’s just a matter of finding your niche, how you’re going to reach people share your story and say, Okay, how are you What’s up, there’s hope everything’s going to be okay. Let me show you how to do this. So my new motto on my Facebook and my Instagram is I’m going to jump into your mess with you. And I’m going to show you how to get out.

Gary Winchester

That’s awesome. That’s real. I love that. I love that because it’s, that’s I mean, I in all honesty, that’s real life that reminds me so much. I always refer back to what Jesus did with the disciples. Nice, messy life real. And you’re in the midst together.

Erika Potts

Yeah. And then I never thought I’d be teaching fitness ever again and then and then a year and I’m a year in personal training and guns. I mean, just my encouragement is don’t give up. Don’t forget to pray and ask for help. When you’re in trouble, try to do that before you’re in a lot of trouble. And if you are going to do products, if you are And if you are going to support your fitness, lifestyle, holistic fitness, by the way, I love that Gary. If you’re going to do holistic fitness, make sure you’re not putting them into crap of your body. And after all the years of bodybuilding and fitness, training and supplements, I will never do anything but to Tara because my body tells me yes and Amen. I mean, we can tell you it’s clean up here, but you can tell, you can just tell and getting all the toxins out toxic, some the head, the brain, toxic thoughts, mindset, getting all the toxins in your body. It’s a journey. You’re never toxic, free forever. But it’s worth it. It’s just worth doing it. So that’s how my journey started was literally we’re at the end. That’s why I’m so passionate about talking about charity, because, of course Jesus but it saved my life. It saved my family’s life. It saved my marriage. It gave us hope it gave us a purpose together again, which our marriage thrives when we have purpose together when we don’t it’s mediocre. I don’t think that’s what God intended for me. I think he, he intended the partnership to be an adventure. So there you go. That’s my testimony.

Gary Winchester

That’s amazing. That gives me so much encouragement and help myself like that. I this is what I love hearing I love hearing people’s story, like, you know, it’s the whole like, I’m not where I was, but I’m not where I’m, I plan to go yet. You gotta go

Erika Potts

high five and give yourself a job, you know. So um, and of course the building blocks of wellness anyway, we you and I covered nutrition, we covered mindset, moving your body, you have to move your body. I mean, whether whatever you choose to do fitness, you have to fit it in, because it really does take care of a lot of health problems. And so yeah,

Gary Winchester

there you go. That’s awesome. So how can people get ahold of you? If they want to talk to you about oils and fitness?
